THE “BEAST-LY” PHILOSOPHIES: 666
Do you believe in 100% of the Bible?
Ever since the beginning of the Age of Enlightenment the intensity of attack by the devil on the Bible has been greater than at anytime previously recorded. The devil has put forth an agenda to usher in the "New Age" or the "New World Order." This agenda appears to be man-centered. However, it is really devil-centered.
Many of us are awaiting a one-world ruler, an anti-Christ, and are missing what has been going on all around us for the last 100 years or more. What is assisting in sending millions and in the future possibly billions of people to Hell are the philosophies of evolution, humanism and psychology.
The devil has been chopping away at our Biblical foundation and many of us have let him. Look at our schools for example…a prime example of the result of allowing the philosophies of the devil to rule and reign. There has been a rise in sexual immorality, drug and alcohol abuse , violence and rebellion. The government is now concerned about our falling (in many cases, failing) test scores. (Read the endnotes 1-6 if you want to know some interesting statistics.)
Our nation is not #1. Our math & science rankings are behind many nations. We have had the lowest high school graduation rate compared with six other comparable countries. Are we surprised?! It is difficult to do well in school when the students are on drugs, afraid of violence and concerned about pregnancy or AIDS. Take God out of our schools and what do you expect! Of course Satan reigns! Instead of being exalted as the best book for study, the Bible is banned! Some schools have refused “Bible clubs” even during after school hours (even though this is legally permissible! See endnote) It can also be used as part of the public school curriculum “in an appropriate study of history, civilization, ethics, comparative religion, or the like.” However, I am concerned that it is not recognized as the authoritative Word of God with instruction for our lives and insight into who God truly is!
Well I'm sick and tired of our disregard for God and His Word and all Christians should be as well. However, many of us are asleep, apathetic, or compromising with the world system.
Teachers and Administrators
Christian teachers and administrators, I admonish you to stand up for God and for the sake of our youth. Encourage Bible reading, Bible studies and prayer groups in your schools among students and school staff. Speak out against sin and the philosophies of the enemy. Do not be sold out to the world (and thus the devil) for the security of your job. He who tries to save his life will lose it; but he who loses his life for God's sake will find it. (Read the endnote for guidance in doing this.)
How can administrators, teachers, and school staff help their students stay away from drugs and help reduce the "baby boom"? Just saying "no" to drugs and "safe sex" isn't going to meet the need. Our kids need Jesus. He is the only one that will keep them "safe from sex" and give them the ability and desire to say no to drugs. Our own willfulness needs to be crucified with Christ and our new nature raised in Him.
Be a positive role model. Are you using illegal drugs? Are you involved in pre- or extra-marital sex? Stop right now! Surrender these issues to Jesus. "Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me."(Ps. 50:15)
Worldly Philosophies
There are three predominant worldly philosophies that the Church needs to understand and address: evolution, humanism and psychology. These three philosophies are the basis of the new age movement and have come to be predominant beliefs of our country over the last century.
Evolution
Evolution is the basic belief that man evolved from simpler forms of life over a long period of time. (See "Effects of Evolution on Society" chapter.) There are serious problems with this idea. If a Christian believes this he cannot believe the book of Genesis, at least not in any straightforward understanding. He cannot believe that God created us as He describes. He inevitably believes that death came before sin. The Bible says, "…by man came death…" (I Corinthians 15:21), not "by death came man".
According to evolution there were many deaths before man evolved. You cannot believe in Jesus, His death on the cross and all that entails, and believe in evolution. There are many excellent books that deal with this subject thoroughly. Among them are The Revolution against Evolution, In the Beginning: Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood, Biblical Creationism, and The Lie: Evolution.
If you are interested in further study, I recommend that you contact the Institute for Creation Research at their website www.icr.org or mailing address P.O. Results of Evolution
I would like to mention a few of the results of believing in evolution:
1. Destruction of the family.
Evolution will weaken the family unit because its precepts include that of instinct. Man has instincts and sexual desires. According to evolutionary thinking, they are only natural and man can't help but to fill those desires. There are no "morals" in this philosophy so it is not "wrong" to have sex as you desire or need to fulfill this instinct. Thus, sexual immorality will increase.
2. Increase in violence.
Evolution tells us we are animals, so why not act like
animals! Violence will increase but don't worry. The fittest (strongest) will survive. The weak will die but then our race will become more pure. Sound familiar? Nazism and Communism were both founded on this philosophy of evolution.
Humanism
Our country is heading straight for a humanistic democracy
without God. Many would say that we are already there.
Humanism is based in self. It involves thinking and living like we are gods.
Our generation is very selfish and self-centered. We need to repent and become God and other-centered. We need to stop taking care of only our needs and start caring for the needs of others. What a contrast it would be if Christians were loving, giving, sharing, other-centered rather than self-centered. Others would know we are His disciples by our love for one another.
Church, we need to stop being humanistic in the sense that we cannot teach morals without God. We need to stop compromising and accepting the fact that so long as "good" morals are taught to our children it's ok. We will allow God to be left out if morals are taught. (Sound like our public schools?!) This is humanism. We aren't good at all unless God through His Son, Jesus, gives us new life through the new birth.
Another area where humanism has blossomed is in our work places. Many corporations and companies are developing humanistic philosophies for their employees to adhere to and promote before their clients. One example is "People Serving People." This sounds very good and even godly unless you understand its subtlety. In understanding the details of this statement it is all man based…(no mention of God anywhere in its philosophy.) Christians, do not be sucked in by these philosophies. They are not godly but humanistic.
I think of an old weekly program on TV that was strongly humanistic but very subtle. This program was a documentary of rescue workers who saved the lives of victims that make a phone call for help. It was an exciting, interesting program but very humanistic. It is man helping man without God. It is exalting the role of the rescue worker rather than the role of God as the ultimate rescuer.
But how many of us watched that program and others like it and think nothing at all about whether credit is being given to God who is answering the cries of those in trouble. He is the One who deserves the credit.
Humanism can be subtle. We need to be aware of it and expose it.
Planned Parenthood and other abortion option groups are based on this premise as well as the premise of evolution. Our lives are our own. We can plan it as we see fit. If we don't want to carry our baby to term, it is okay to abort the fetus. Humanism is a destructive and dangerous philosophy as is evolution!
Psychology
Psychology is the third evil philosophy that is as dangerous as humanism and evolution. Psychology deals with the mind and emotions of men rather than the spirit of man. The Church has seriously compromised itself with this worldly philosophy in that we often "counsel" people utilizing psychology rather than with the Word of God, i.e., the Bible. We try to "heal" a person's emotions by this kind of counsel rather than by repentance, prayer and believing what God has said. Psychological counsel is a replacement for repentance and forgiveness of sins. It is used to cover over or deal with guilt. If one were to study the psychological principles and teachings behind Freud, Jung, B.F. Skinner and other psychology founders you would find most, if not all, of these teachings and principals were anti- or non- Biblical.
Church, stop substituting psychological counsel for repentance! Sin is sin. Sin causes many emotional and mental problems. Unforgiveness, resentment and bitterness are sins that cause much emotional and mental distress.
There is true counsel - the wisdom from the Bible. God has given us the Holy Spirit as our Counselor. He will instruct and comfort us. God has given us each other to bear one another's burdens, to pray for one another and to help each other in need as well. If Jesus was our first love and we truly loved one another, we would not need to seek after psychology to comfort us.
Where was psychology when Christians were being persecuted and martyred over the first 1900 years A.D.? They suffered much persecution and were physically and emotionally tortured. That was stress! But they depended on God, His Holy Spirit and His Word! We need to do so again today.
I would like to mention particular heresies in the Church that are psychology based: “Inner Healing,” “Healing of memories,” and “Theophostics.” (Look at the footnote if you would like to read as to why Theophostics is not Biblical.) These can be a dangerous substitutions for repentance. They also have no Biblical support. In fact, the Bible admonishes us that we are new creations in Christ. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) We are to forget those things which are behind and to reach forward to those things ahead. (Phil. 3:13) Church, repent of this psychology based compromise!
Finally Church, are you heavily involved in psychology and it’s teachings rather than the Bible and it’s wisdom? If it is not according to the light of His Word it is none of His. Are you humanistic? Are you trusting in man and his wisdom rather than in God? Do you believe in evolution rather than what God said about His creation which He created? (He was there, you know.) We need to repent of believing Satan's philosophies. Do you want to be marked by the philosophies of the Beast?

The government spends $12 to promote contraception for every $1 spent on abstinence. Sex education curricula promoted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) includes:
• “Focus on Kids” – Teaches middle and high school students that they can be close to a person without having sexual intercourse by bathing together, masturbation, sensuous feeding, fanaticizing watching erotic movies, reading erotic books and magazines.
• “Be Proud! Be Responsible!” – Students engage in homosexual role-playing. Middle and high school students are encouraged to think up a sexual fantasy using condoms, use condoms as a method of foreplay, and tease each other manually while putting on the condom.
• “Becoming a Responsible Teen (B.A.R.T.) – students practice putting condoms on a plastic phallus and taught to use household lubricants such as grape jelly, maple syrup, and honey.

Around the time of the original writing of this chapter, youth drug and alcohol use was increasing. I have included long-term and current statistics below for youth in general:
• Youth arrests for those under 18 years old increased significantly from 1984 to 1993 for drunkenness (42.9%); driving under the influence (50.2%) and drug abuse (27.8%). “DUI/DWI Arrests and Convictions” in Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) (cited 21 February 2001); formerly available at http://www.madd.org/stats/Stat_dui.SHTML; INTERNET.
• “By the 8th grade, 70 percent of youth report having tried alcohol and by the 12th grade, about 88 percent have used alcohol.” “Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1994” (cited 10 February 2004); available from http://www.ed.gov/legislation/ESEA/sec4001.html; INTERNET.
• Over 32 percent of males and 26.6 percent of females aged 13-18 were intoxicated at school according to a 1994 school-based national study. Kathleen K. Bucholz, Gina Banks and Sharon A. Ryan, “Descriptive Epidemiology of Alcohol Use and Problem Drinking During Adolescence: Data from a School-Based National Sample” (cited 6 July 2006); available at http://web.missouri.edu/~marc/Poster%206%20-%20Bucholz.pdf; INTERNET, 13-14.
• “Results from the Phi Delta Kappa/Gallup poll of the public's attitudes toward public schooling showed that discipline problems and substance use were regarded as two of the top four problems in American schools.” Kristin V. • The “good” news is that alcohol use over a five-year average (ending at 2002-2003) remains the same at 52 percent. National Parents Resource Institute for Drug Education, Inc., “Pride Survey Shows Small Increase in Teen Drug Use” in Join Together Web page (cited 7 July 2006); available from http://www.jointogether.org/sa/news/summaries/reader/0,1854,567032,00.html; INTERNET.
• Estimates suggest that illicit drug use was low during the early 1960s but began to increase during the mid-1960s with the use of marijuana among youth. There was a steady increase in illicit drug use throughout the 1970s until a peak was reached in 1979. Then illicit drug use significantly declined from 1979 until 1992 for adults and youth. Between 1992 and 1995 use among youths doubled. After 1995, the rate varied and then declined from 1997 until 2002. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Applied Studies, “2001 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse” (cited 30 January, 2004); available from http://www.samhsa.gov/oas/nhsda/2k1nhsda/vol1/chapter9.htm; INTERNET.

Regarding the availability of drugs at school: Between 1993 and 2001, students reported that illegal drugs were made available to them on school property increased. “In 2001, 29% of all students in grades 9 through 12 reported someone had offered, sold, or given them an illegal drug on school property. This was an increase from 1993 when 24% of such students reported that illegal drugs were available to them on school property.’ In 1999, 37% of students ages 12 through 18 reported that marijuana, cocaine, crack, or upper/downers were available at school whereas 63% of students in 1989 and in 1995 reported drugs were available at school. U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, “Drug Use,” (cited 8 July 2006); available from http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/dcf/du.htm; INTERNET.
At the original time of this writing, murder rates among teenagers had been increasing in the late 1980s even though rates for older age groups declined. The murder rate exploded after 1985 and continued to increase until it reached a peak around 1993. Then the murder rate continued to decline until 2000 to near the 1985 levels. James Alan Fox, Homicide trends in the U.S. “Age Trends,” in U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics Web Page (cited 6 July 2006); available from http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/homicide/teens.htm; INTERNET.
From 1993 to 2002, serious violent offenses committed by persons aged 12 to 17 declined 75% (according to victim’s perception of age of the offender) after reaching a peak in 1993. The levels since 1997 had dropped below that of any year from 1973-1997. U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, “The Proportion of Serious Violent Crimes Committed by Juveniles has Generally Declined since 1993,” in U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics Web Page (cited 17 February 2004); available from http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/glance/offage.htm; INTERNET.
Concerning violent crime in the public schools:
• Between 1993 and 1997, the percentage of high school students who were threatened or injured with a weapon remained constant (between 7 and 8 percent). The percentage of students in a physical fight also remained constant.
• “Between 1992 and 1998 violent victimization rates at schools dropped from 48 crimes per 1,000 students to 43 per 1,000.” U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Justice, “Crimes in the Nation’s Schools Declined in the 1990s according to Departments of Justice & Education” (cited 8 July 2006); available from http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/press/iscs00.pr; INTERNET.
• Regarding crime in general: “Between 1995 and 2001, the percentage of students who reported being victims of crime at school decreased from 10 percent to 6 percent.” U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, “The Proportion of Serious Violent Crimes Committed by Juveniles has Generally Declined since 1993,” in U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics Web Page (cited 17 February 2004); available from http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/abstract/iscs03.htm; INTERNET.
James Alan Fox prepared a report for the United States Department of Justice that predicted the rise of juvenile violent crime in 1996. Below are some of the highlights:
• From 1990 to 1994, the overall rate of murder declined four percent, yet murders committed by teenagers aged 14-17 jumped a tragic 22 percent. From 1985 to 1994, this murder rate increased 172 percent!
• From 1989 to 1994, the arrest rate for violent crimes (which are murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault) rose over 46 percent among teenagers as compared to 12 percent among adults. James Alan Fox, “Trends in Juvenile Violence,” (cited 17 February 2004); available from http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/pdf/tjvfox2.pdf; INTERNET.
There are 8,652 “failing” schools in the United States. About one-fifth of the nation’s schools who receive federal money to teach disadvantaged students are “failing.” Karen Thomas and Anthony DeBarros, “School ‘excellence’ thrown a grading curve,”

It is important that we be wise as serpents and innocent as doves in our approach. Our testimony should always be above reproach. When we speak out we should expect to be retaliated against, maybe even fired. Sometimes bluntness is required; (generally this approach is with those who supposedly know the truth.) But sometimes we need to be subtle. If you are in a public school you will be dealing mostly with those who do not know the truth. Oftentimes, you will want to be gentle. However, some people will not want to hear what you have to say, no matter how subtle and gentle your approach. On the contrary, I think some people will be encouraged and emboldened by what you say. Some may even change their minds. I think of Jesus' approach with people. With the religious leaders, Jesus often spoke hard words. With the sinners, he was often gentle and kind. Not only will your words be effective but also your actions.
This is the case with survival of the fittest and nature red in tooth and claw (refers to carnivores killing each other). Death is evolution's mechanism.
